Building off my Vancouver Zoning Map, I created a map showing the zoning areas in the District of North Vancouver. Zoning regulates development factors such as structure type, density, height, lot size, placement, and other standards. If you've ever tried to figure out where a specific zoning regulation applies, you'll know it can be a bit tricky. That's where this map comes in!
The building data (2012) and zoning data (2000) is from the District of North Vancouver's Open Data catalogue, and everything else is from Open Street Map. I extruded the building footprints based on number of stories, assuming each level is around 3.5m. To learn more, check out the City's Zoning Districts page. I used Mapbox to pull it all together with some custom styling and interface work, making use of their amazing new extrusion properties.
More features and interactivity are on the way. Until then, get in touch if you have questions/comments @rbrtwhite. I'd love to hear from you!
